Glamorous hotels, world-class dining and stunning vistas merge seamlessly with dynamic student suburbs and vibrant nightlife. Malay and African heritage is evident in the cuisine, traditions, and entertainment while the architecture reveals a strong Dutch, German and English flavor, and style. Contemporary art is proudly displayed in a variety of galleries and modern boutique hotels, and wine bars and brandy tasting lounges will appeal to the fashionable set. For the well-heeled the finest in opera, ballet, drama, and music can be appreciated in style. Perhaps wander around the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, a working harbor and hub of entertainment and shopping opportunities.

Later, you will be taken on an orientation tour of the city, which includes a visit to the Bo-Kaap well-known for its brightly colored homes and cobbled stone street.
  • Later in the afternoon, you will attend the seminar.
  • In the evening enjoy the welcome cocktail party, followed by Welcome dinner
  • Seminar Duration: 4 hours

This is where, by tradition, Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. We will then take a short drive along the coast to Simon’s Town, a naval village where we will enjoy a seafood lunch at Two Oceans Restaurant. After lunch proceed to Boulder’s Beach home to an African Penguin colony. From just two breeding pairs in 1982, the penguin colony has grown to about 3000 in recent years.  Continue to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a relaxing walkabout to learn more about the flora of the city and country.
  • Overnight: One & Only Waterfront
  • Meals: Breakfast at Hotel, Lunch at Two Oceans Restaurant, Dinner on your own

DAY 04: 13 OCT Robben Island Tour

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Then, it is an easy walk to the Nelson Mandela Gateway where you board the ferry to Robben Island.  On arrival you are met and transferred by bus for a tour of the island offering spectacular views of the city of Cape Town and Table Mountain.   The Island was a training and defense station in World War 2, and has also served as a place of banishment, isolation, and imprisonment, which became world famous as the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years.
  • Today it is a World Heritage Site and museum which acts as a focal point of South African heritage. It runs educational programs for schools and facilitates tourism development – a poignant reminder of the price paid for freedom. You will have the opportunity to learn about the island’s history and view the prison where Nelson Mandela spent a large part of his life. After a most interesting time of gleaning ‘behind the scenes’ history, the ferry takes you back to Cape Town.
  • The rest of the afternoon will be spent on your own leisure.
  • Overnight: One & Only Waterfront
  • Meals: Breakfast at Hotel & Dinner at the Gold Restaurant

DAY 05: 14 OCT Cape Town – Winelands Tour

It’s surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. The town’s oak-shaded streets are lined with cafes, boutiques, and art galleries. Cape Dutch architecture gives a sense of South Africa’s Dutch colonial history, as do the Village Museum’s period houses and gardens.

  • Meals: Breakfast at Hotel & Lunch at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate

It’s the biggest city and capital of Gauteng province began as a 19th-century gold-mining settlement. Its sprawling Soweto township was once home to Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. • Meals: Breakfast at Hotel

DAY 08: 17 OCT Johannesburg: Full Day City Tour

  • Lunch will be enjoyed at the rustic and charming Chez Alina in Soweto and following this we will visit a nursery school to meet and spend a bit of time with the local children!
  • Then we visited Soweto. Soweto is a “city within a city”.  It is the most populous black urban area in the country and the most metropolitan town in South Africa.  Rich with the history of the struggle against apartheid, Soweto is the melting pot of South African urban culture – setting trends in politics, fashion, music, dance, and language.   Drive past the Hector Pieterson Memorial and see the homes of Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Tutu, and Winnie Mandela.
  • Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure.
  • Overnight: Sandton Sun Hotel
  • Meals: Breakfast at Hotel & Lunch at Chez Alina

  • Kapama is a private game Reserve located on the border of the Kruger National Park. You have some free time to explore the camp or relax at the pool prior to your first game drive.  In the late afternoon, depart on your first game drive.  In Land Rovers, you will set off into the bush on an exciting safari accompanied by a professional game ranger.  At sunset, your rangers will stop off in the bush, where you will have a chance to soak up the amazing silence and watch the sun sink into the dusty horizon. Continue with the game drive after dark, using a powerful spotlight to point out nocturnal wildlife.
  • The chances are excellent that you will encounter lions, leopards, elephant, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, and many other species of game in their natural habitat. The vehicles go off the road, when necessary, to afford you the best possible view. Return to the camp where you will have a chance to freshen up prior to having dinner.
  • Overnight: Kapama River Lodge
  • Meals: Breakfast Lunch & Dinner

DAY 10: 19 OCT Private Game Lodge

  • Morning and Afternoon game drives are the order of the day.  Game drives are undertaken in open 4 x 4 vehicles with a game ranger and tracker.  During your game drives you may get to see a variety of animals and perhaps the Big Five – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. There is also a wide variety of antelope and bird species. Afternoon game drives continue into the night when viewing is done by spotlight to view the nocturnal animals. The safari continues into the dark when spotlights are used to follow the game. As most of the predators are nocturnal, this is the best time for viewing especially as most hunting occurs at night.
  • Overnight: Kapama River Lodge
  • Meals: Breakfast Lunch & Dinner

DAY 11: 20 OCT Private Game Lodge

There are also many other species to be seen, large and small, as well as fascinating plants and colorful birds. During the rest of the day, you are likely to see wildlife like nyala antelope and vervet monkeys around the lodges.
