Course Overview
This CE course will cover a lot of information from the perspective of my role as a Dentist Anesthesiologist and General Dentist in academic and private practice. It is meant to refresh knowledge of critical aspects of providing safe care in the dental office, as well as present new drug information and social trends of the use of mind altering substances.
The sedation section will include the practical uses, red flags and contraindications for simple sedation in your dental office. The emergencies section will include how to organize your staff and office for effective emergency management as well as a participation component with drugs and supplies. The scenarios reviewed go from the most common to the ones dental boards test on for oral sedation and Nitrous permits. The section on pharmacology will focus on drugs we prescribe as dentists, drugs our patients are taking and the drugs our patients are using for recreation and self pre-medication. This will be a fun and interactive program.
