1. Speaker: Dr. Marshall Hoffer
Dr. Marshall Hoffer obtained his dental degree from the University of Manitoba in 1972. In 1978 Dr. Hoffer completed his training in Fixed Prosthodontics at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and returned to Winnipeg to begin his private practice limited to Prosthodontics and adult restorative dentistry.
Dr. Hoffer has published articles in the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, the International Journal of Oral Rehabilitation and Family Health magazine, and has lectured internationally. He is a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, the Manitoba Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and is a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
2. Speaker: Dr. Dan Lavitt
Dr. Dan Lavitt was raised in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1980, he received a Bachelor degree in Business Administration at University of Missouri – Columbia. Following the completion of his Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Lavitt continued to compete in Track and Field for the United States National Team and the Pacific Coast Track Club, & later signed as a free agent wide receiver with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1982, where he participated part of the preseason. In 1987, he graduated from Kansas City School of Dentistry- University of Missouri & completed his residency in Endodontics at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. Dr. Lavitt and his wife, Catherine, moved and currently reside in Columbia, Missouri. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Lavitt became a Diplomate to the American Board of Endodontics in 1994; has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry; is currently on the Endodontic Specialty Committee to the Missouri Dental Board; a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, the Missouri Dental Association, Columbia Dental Society; the Jefferson City Dental Society; & was inducted into University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Hall of Fame & Missouri Track and Field Coaches Hall of Fame. Dr. Lavitt has lectured at University of Nebraska, University of Missouri – Kansas City, University of Iowa, t Northeast Dental Society, Columbia Dental Society & Jefferson City Dental Society on various topics in the field of Endodontics. In his free time, Dr. Lavitt enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
3. Speaker: Dr. Jurgen Vander Velden
Dr. Jurgen Vander Velden was born in Holland and raised from an early age in Waterloo, Ontario.He received his B.Sc. from the University of Waterloo in 1987 and his D.D.S. from the University of Western Ontario in 1991. Following four years with The Canadian Armed Forces as a Dental Officer, Dr. Vander Velden moved to Peterborough and fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening his own practice in 1995. A firm believer in continuing education, he is committed to staying current with leading-edge dental techniques, materials and equipment. Dr. Vander Velden holds numerous association memberships and is a past president of the Peterborough Dental Society. An avid golfer, he resides in Peterborough with his wife Verona, also a dentist, and their two children, Jenna and Matthew.
