The course will focus on guidelines for surgical and prosthetic treatment in implant dentistry and their role in the management of complications, both biological and mechanical. Particular attention will be devoted to cement vs. screw-retained prosthetics and their impact on complications. In addition, infraocclusion due to growth will be presented, and addressed within the full range of mechanical and biological complications.

Learning Objectives
•To identify biological complications in implant dentistry
•To identify hardware complications and implant failures
•To identify mechanical and technical risks in implant dentistry
•To diagnose complication and failure rates with cemented versus screw-retained reconstructions

More and more, dental implant therapy is becoming a preferred treatment option.Dental clinicians are faced with treating surgical and restorative complications that arise from dental implant treatment. Complications can occur for a multitude of reasons: improper treatment planning or site augmentation; soft tissue mismanagement; implant malpositioning; and peri-implantitis.

Topics discussed will help clinicians identify and address implant complications,understand the reasons they occur, determine treatment and solutions, and understand how to avoid them through prevention methodologies such as proper planning, patient selection and timely treatment.

Participants will walk away with an understanding of:

Dear Kennedy Friends and Family;

We have all felt the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and our world has changed dramatically.  Almost all infectious disease experts and the World Health Organization predict the strong possibility that we may experience a second and third wave of the spread of COVID-19 later in the year.

As a result of these forecasts, and to help protect the health and safety of all KPES travellers we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Italy & Greek Isles Celebrity cruise, the 7-day Sicily trip and corresponding CE seminars planned for October 2020.

You will note on our website, that there are three trips still being advertised.   Sandals St. Lucia from January 16-23, 2021; South America Cruise from February 13-28, 2021; and Beaches Turks and Caicos from March 13- 20, 2021.  We are continuing to monitor events worldwide, and are hopeful that life will return to some relative degree of normal in the travel industry, allowing us to proceed with these trips as planned.  That being said, the health and safety of our customers is of paramount importance, and if there are even the most remote concerns about our customers health and safety, these trips will be cancelled as well.

We want to take this time to applaud and thank our front line healthcare and essential workers, who have risked their health and well being  to keep us safe, healthy and nourished during the last few months.  Our thoughts go out to all the people who have taken ill from Covid 19,  and their health care workers and families who looked after them and helped them return to a state of health and wellness. Our sincere condolences go out to all families who have lost a loved one during this pandemic.  We cannot imagine what you have gone through, and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We thank you for your support and understanding in these unprecedented times and look forward to traveling with you again.
